Adam Beach, Tina Keeper 2009 National Aboriginal Achievement Awards The National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation is thrilled to present the 16th Annual National Aboriginal Achievement Awards in the heart of Winnipeg, Canada at the Manitoba Centennial Centre on March 6, 2009. Hosted by Winnipeg's own Adam Beach and Tina Keeper, the NAAA '09 will bring together some of Aboriginal Canada's most popular performers to celebrate the achievements of 14 outstanding Aboriginal Canadians who have effected positive change in our communities, our nation and the world. This year's theme is SPIRIT. Both the Cree and Ojibwa people of the territory used this word to describe Manitoba. The Ojibway refer to Manitoba as Manitou, the embodiment of spirit. The Cree call it Manitou Ah Beh, Where the Spirit Lives. |
